Wake up call...

I woke up out of the blue as if witnessing something which I would never like to see in my life… was panting and trying hard to normalize my breath… could feel the sweat taking its way from my temple to nose… I ran my hands around to grab the water bottle and poured in as much as I could take in a single gulp… Thank God it was just a dream… but I could still hear my heart thumping fast… it all started this way…

It was 5.45AM, as usual my mobile annoyed me by reverberating the alarm set for the time… I silenced him with a click and went back to sleep convincing myself… IT’S TOO EARLY… TAKE REST…. went back to sleep in no time…

Was I cooking or boiling water, I am not able to make out clearly… but was in kitchen having a dialogue with my nanny about all kinds of nonsense happening around the world. Couple of minutes later I rushed out, considering something that I was supposed to do on day. I came out of the domicile taking the side road to my nameless destination… Metal crushing thud stopped me from taking a step further…

I looked back and stood there for a couple of seconds, not able to move as if I was struck hard with something I have never seen or never wished to see in my life… came to my senses in a couple and rushed to the spot, many were already there to the rescue. I tried hard to move in beating the crowd, by that time someone shouted, there is a kid… with all my strength I separated the crowd and moved in. I was received by a Baby who is hardly 1 or 2yrs old and a lady who is supposedly the mother… I shouted… someone call for help…give space… don’t crowd around them and waived my hands around for space…

I saw the lady asking for something, could make out that she was asking for water… I rushed to my space to get some, in a distance I could hear the ambulance siren… that gave me hope… I was back to the spot in no time, but the crowd received me with an unusual stillness… lightning passed through my heart. I walked to the person holding the baby, raised my right hand and uttered WATER… He slowly raised his head as if he was hiding something, looked at me pouring through his eyes and sounded… Its of no use… Water slipped though my hands to hit the floor… tears blurred my vision, slowly I came out and sat on the pavement… pair of soft hands rolled over my shoulder… I couldn’t stop myself seeing my nanny… As I was crying loud she held me tight in her arms…
